Cars

In Argentina, cars are called autos. The word “auto” comes from “automobile”, which refers to a vehicle that carries its own engine. The spanish equivalent of “automobile” is “automóvil”, and that’s where the word autos is derived from.
In Spain, the preferred word (instead of “autos”) is “coches“.
